Tropicalia

You guys have heard Beck's song Tropicalia right? Well this illustration is inspired by that very song! I hope you like it, I can't decide which color background goes better with it. What do you think?

I've been busy painting illustrations for my new "Branches" series, which for some reason remind me of British Tales and Swedish illustration. I'm having so much fun making these, I think I'll turn them into greeting cards soon!  ♥ 

Hexagon- This is a cool shape right? I buy these boxes all the time at a craft store in Mexico City, they're so much fun to make and this is the only one I have left after Bazar Fusion last weekend... (yay!) I can't wait to make some more right away! 

Aqua

I mostly limit myself to painting with acrylic these days, but once in a while I like to go back to watercolor. Painting with watercolor is the complete opposite of acrylic, it's so different in so many ways; from cleaning your brushes, mixing the paint, to the end result, but most important of all it's a completely different feeling you get during the process. I've lost practice with this technique in the last year and I'm never sure how much I even like the end result of my nature inspired illustration using watercolor, but I've decided I'll start uploading them anyways!  You can now find them under the "Aqua" section in my site, more to come <3

A Bunch of Berries

I recently painted these illustrations on my Fabriano Medioevalis Cards and framed them all. I love these little cards, they are 12 x 12 cm each and I'm about half way through on my pack of 100. 

The illustrations are currently listed on my etsy shop, they can be purchased as singles or as the entire series of 6 (free shipping for anyone interested in all 6!).

Old Fashioned Way of Making a Pattern

I found a tutorial on Design Sponge on how to make a repeat pattern without using a computer. All though it does help to put the final design together in photoshop. It was a lot of fun and I plan on making a bunch of these. It's not perfect, but I think I did ok for my first try!

Artichoke and Squash Pattern Strip

I've been looking for different ways to apply my illustrations. This is my first try at pattern making. I printed out a strip of my pattern (click here to see complete pattern designs) Artichoke and Squash on Adhesive Vinyl. I can't wait to see it on textile, and coffee mugs!
